2013 round-up

10:00 PM

Thirteen Over a hundred days have passed in 2014 and I still feel the urge to write down a yearly round-up post.

In 2013, I got to see the world a bit more, opened up to myself a bit more, got a tad bit more comfortable with myself (there are pros and cons to this). I'd say it was a particularly messy year because I was going back and forth on the opposite ends of the emotional spectrum pretty much the entire year. I remember having the most horrendous March/early April.

2013 thought me that I am the most reliable person I will ever encounter. Throughout the entire year, I was constantly beating myself up for relying on other people. It might just be me but I've come to the realisation that it is so much better to deal with most things on your own. Some matters you consider a priority might not be of any importance to anyone else.

If I was to take a step back and look at myself from afar, I'd say I didn't really better myself in every aspect of my life but this is definitely what I'm hoping to work on this year. 2013 was a year of new music, new perspectives and short vacations. I grew fond anything white, especially leather. I grew a little tired of keeping up with the ever changing, fast-paced fashion industry. Somehow, my interests diverted to travel videos on Vimeo and in turn, I am now engrossed with videography.

Typically, new years call for resolutions but I don't believe in any of that. I know for fact that I will end up disappointed in December, haha. This year, I hope I'll blossom into a graceful young lady (I'm ready for a miracle LOL), get into making videos, do something remarkable in my life, and see the world. Insyallah.

Sidenote: You don't need a new year to start fresh.

Sidesidenote: I drafted this on the 14th of January, which explains the first line of this post, but I never got around to posting it.. Until now.
