My friend, Bibah and I got to watch Farah Khan's RTW show at KLFW last weekend. I enjoyed it very much, being able to feast my eyes on sparkly, heavily embellished clothing well suited for strong, independent women. Two pieces that stood out for me were a sweater that said "GOGO TO KUALA LUMPUR" as well as (what looked like) a chiffon jumpsuit with high slits up both legs. Those two were besides the vast array of richly sequinned cocktail dresses that I definitely wouldn't say no to. The collection was inspired by the 60s and one thing I definitely liked about it is that the inspiration behind it didn't bluntly translate in the line. For a collection to say that it was inspired and have all the pieces look exactly like the inspiration, that's not something I'd fancy. In this case, I admired that it didn't look like it came straight out of an after party of a Hitchcock premiere. Anyway, it was a breath of fresh air, compared to the previous season which was inspired by modern/urban architecture.
I met a lot of great personalities which was nice too. I felt quite strange that pretty much everyone I bonded with ended the conversation with "do you have Instagram?". That obviously was a sign that I wasn't keeping up with modern times (LOL) and that I don't socialise much offline.
